Swiss League, Game 5: October 28, 2006
Birstal Starwings and Olympic Fribourg remain the only two unbeaten teams in the Swiss League after solid wins on Saturday. The teams improved to 4-0, leading third place Lugano Tigers (4-1) by half a game. Defense was key in Olympic Fribourg's impressive 83-58 win over the Geneva Devils. The hosts exploded in the last quarter with a 31-12 run. Brandon Polk and Dave Esterkamp combined for 46 points to lead Fribourg. Birstal Starwings topped Sion Herens 77-70 led by the duo of Jarred McCurry with 30 points and Raymond Henderson with 27. Lugano thrashed BBC Nyon 87-58. The Tigers started the match with a 17-0 run and never looked back. Tony Brown tallied 35 points to push Lausanne-Morges to an easy 95-65 win over Vevey Riviera. BBC Monthey edged BC Boncourt 82-80 behind 21 points each from Nicholas Porchet and Kgomotso Sefolosha.
