Polish League, Game 4: October 28-29, 2006
Justin Hamilton - Prokom Trefl Sopot Prokom Trefl Sopot and Anwil Wloclawek were both upset over the weekend, leaving the Polish League without an undefeated team after four games. The biggest sensation took place in Sopot on Sunday, where the defending champs lost to Polonia Warsaw 84-89. Prokom needed some luck in its two previous victories at Kager and Polpak, but didn't have enough this time. On Friday, Anwil Wloclawek lost its first game at Bergson Slask Wroclaw 76-63. Stal Ostrow is now among the top teams following its 73-80 victory at Kotwica Kolobrzeg. John Thomas scored 29 points for guests, while Brandun Hughes's 31 points wasn't enough for Kotwica. Polpak Swiecie beat Sokolow Znicz Jaroslaw 56-68 on the road behind Kevin Hamilton's 21 points. Przemyslaw Luszczewski had 17 for Znicz. Energa Czarni Slupsk easily beat Kager Gdynia 76-61 with five players in double figures. Polpharma earned a comfortable victory over Unia Tarnow 77-59 thanks to Whitney Robinson's 26. Unia's Sani Ibrahim had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Thomas Kelati and Slobodan Ljubotina both scored 16 points in BOT Turow Zgorzelec's 76-57 decision over AZS Koszalin. Michael Haynes scored 21 for the visitors.

Prokom was shorthanded without Tomas Pacesas, Jasmin Hukic and Huseyin Besok, but was still favored against lowly Polonia, which used only six players. But the visitors controlled the tempo for most of the game. In the last minute, Prokom had the game in its hands. Christian Dalmau twice came to the line, but made only two of four attempts. On the last possession Polonia's Rolandas Alijevas scored to send the game into overtime. Once there, Polonia made its free throws, took the lead and held on. Antonio Hudson shined with 30 points, including four triples for Polonia, while Kenny Walker added 23 and Alijevas finished with 12, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Justin Hamilton led Prokom with 22, Rashid Atkins added 16, Christian Dalmau 15 and Adam Wojcik 14. Filip Dylewicz finished with 14 rebounds. Prokom is now one of of five teams with 3-1 record. Anwil Wloclawek lost its first game of the season on Friday in the Wroclaw derby at Bergson Slask Wroclaw 76-63. Anwil last had the last lead at 11-14 in the fifth minute. Than Slask used a 10-0 run and never looked back. Anwil tried to come back with a zone defense, but it didn't succeed as it struggled to put points on the board. Aleksandar Dimitrovski drilled five three-pointers on his way to 20 points for Slask. Andrzej Pluta led Anwil with 22 points and Tim Kisner added 20.
