Portuguese League, Game 2: November 1, 2006
Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Lusitania Angra PM lead the Portuguese League standings each with a 2-0 record. Benfica beat Belenenses Hyundai Lusifor 79-89 on the road behind 25 points from Corey Benjamin. Ashante Johnson added 21, Ian Stanback had 13 and Antonio Tavares in an easy road win for Benfica. Lusitania had to battle for all 40 minutes to down Queluz Sintra PM 67-72. Willie Taylor led the winners with 25 points, Jaime Silva added 19 while Mike Williams posted a double-double of 14 points and 18 rebounds for Lusitania. Ike Nwankwo had 18 points for Queluz, which led 60-59 with 5 minutes to go. Taylor followed a basket with an outstanding four-point play which sealed the win down the stretch for Lusitania. Casino Figueira  Ginasio edged Barreirense 76-70 to get its first win of the season. Ricky Woods and Jesse Smith each had 15 points for the winners. Finally, FC Porto thrashed CAB Madeira 82-64 behind 24 points from Larry Jon Smith.
