Portuguese League, Game 5, November 11-13, 2006
Ovarense Aerosoles and Futebol Clube do Porto Ferpinta both won over the weekend in Portuguese League action to improve to 4-0 and retain their share of first place. Defending champion Ovarense sent Queluz Sintra Patrimonio Mundial to its fifth straight defeat by a 86-57 scoreline. Ovarense led 32-29 at halftime and increased that to 9 points after 30 minutes, but proceeded to dominate the fourth quarter 29-9 to cruise to victory. Ben Reed scored 14 and Elvis Evora paced the winners with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Jamie Kendrick led Queluz Sintra with 21. Porto took down Barreirense 63-76 on the road as Marques Houtman scored 24 and Nuno Marçal had 23 points and 10 rebounds. Porto used a 12-27 second quarter to take control for good. João Gomes was top scorer for Barreirense with 22. In other games, Benfica Lisbon got 20 points apiece from Miguel Minhava and Corey Benjamin to defeat CAB Madeira 79-68, and Belenenses Hyundai Lusifor topped Casino Figueira Ginásio on the road 80-96.
