Greek League, Game 7: November 18-19, 2006
Panagiotis Vassilopoulos - Olympiacos The three Euroleague representatives remained atop the Greek League after Game 7. Panathinaikos beat AE Larissa 92-81 behind Dimos Dikoudis’ 18 points, Olympiacos won 84-76 Olympia Larissa on the road thanks to a do-it-all performance by Panagiotis Vassilopoulos, who racked up 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Meanwhile, Aris held off AEK 73-68 behind 21 points of Alex Scales, while Nikos Vetoulas had 17 for AEK. Panathinaikos, Olympiacos and Aris improved to 6-1 records and dominate the Greek championship with no problems so far. As for the other ULEB Cup team, PAOK fell big at Maroussi by 83-63 despite Blagota Sekulic's and Drago Pasalic's 11 points apiece.

In OAKA Sports Hall, Panathinaikos did not have to press itself in order to sail to a 92-81 win over AE Larissa. The visitors achieved to be quite competitive, but the class difference between the two teams was evident. Dimos Dikoudis had 18 points and he was followed by Dimitris Diamantidis and Kostas Tsartsaris who had 13 each, while Robertas Javtokas added 11 and Mike Batiste 10. Panathinaikos shot on 68% from inside the arc. Nikola Lepojevic led AE Larissa offensively with 27 points, while Arthur Lee had 22 and Lance Williams 12.

Olympiacos traveled to Larissa to face the other team representing the city, Olympia. The Reds run the floor and built a huge 57-36 difference by halftime. However, the hosts did not give up and managed to cut it to 64-69 at the end of the third quarter. Olympiacos, though, curbed their enthousiasm and thanks to magnificent Panagiotis Vassilopoulos locked a 84-76 away win, Vassilopoulos finished the game with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Damir Mulaomerovic added 13, while Avdrija Zizic, Scoonie Penn and Sofoklis Schortsianitis had 10 each.

After a tight game in Alexandrio Melathron, Aris beat AEK 73-68 led by 21 points on 4 triples of Alex Scales. The guests were missing Christos Tapoutos and suffered 20 turnovers, twice as many as the hosts. Beside Scales, Aris saw Mike Wilkinson add 19 points with 5 steals. Nikos Vetoulas had 17 for AEK, while Brend Scott added 16 and Giannis Gagaloudis 10, but on a poor 1/7 from behind the arc.

Maroussi posted its second win of the season easily beating PAOK 83-63. Danya Abrams led the team in scoring with 18 points; Chris Thomas had 17, Renaldas Seibutis 13 and Kostas Kaimakoglou 10. Blagota Sekulic and Drago Pasalic shared 11 points for PAOK, while Vlado Scepanovic and Giannis Kalabokis chipped in 10 apiece.

In other games, Makedonikos thrashed disappointing Egaleo 79-42 behind 18 points from Vladimir Zujovic, Panellinios escaped from Patras with a good 91-75 win over Apollon based on 23 points of Ivo Josipovic, while Panionios never lost charge to win 77-70 Olympiada Patras behind Stratos Perperoglou 17 points and despite Steve Burtt’s 28.
