Belgian League, Game 12: November 25-26, 2006
Elvir Ovcina - Telindus OostendeSpirou Charleroi held off Liege Basket 75-85 on the road Saturday to remain atop the Belgian League with an 9-3 record. Ralph Biggs led five Charleroi scorers in double figures with 18 points and 1o rebounds. Stephane Pelle paced Liege with 19 points and 12 boards. Telindus Oostende edged Dexia Mons-Hainaut 77-75 to move into a share of fourth place with a 7-5 mark. Rashad Wright had 23 to lead Oostende, which had dropped its last two league games. The hosts led by 7 after 10 minutes, Mons close the gap to 40-38 at halftime and it remained tight throughout the second half. Sam Van Rossom and Elvir Ovcina added 13 each and Eric Hicks 12 for Telindus. Ovcina also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. George Evans and Jim Potter had 19 apiece, Kevin Houston recorded 15 points and 9 steals and Shawnta Rogers had 11 in defeat. In other Saturday games, Trevor Huffman scored 19 and dished 8 assists to lead Okapi Aalstar past Basket Gr Leuven 89-62 and Euphony Bree outlasted Verviers-Pepinster 96-91. In Sunday's lone game, R Atomia Brussels held Sanex Antwerp G to 7-fourth-quarter points on the way to a come-from-behind 72-70 win, which saw the club climb out of last place. Chris Young was the Brussels hero with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
