Greek League, Game 8: November 25-26, 2006
Jeremiah Massey - Aris TT Bank Aris provided the upset in a top of the table clash on Sunday in the Greek League, beating Olympiacos 70-76 at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus. Jeremiah Massey was the hero with 15 points, 6 rebounds and a crucial steal with 40 seconds left to help secure the win. Aris improved to 7-1, like Panathinaikos, which defeated Panellinios 57-83, to share the league-lead. Olympiacos, which started the weekend tied with its Euroleague counterparts for first place, fell to 6-2. PAOK and AEK Athens improved their records to 4-4, after they beat Olympias Patras, 75-53 and Makedonikos 89-67, respectively. Blagota Sekulic posted 20 to lead PAOK, while Jasmin Perkovic led AEK with 14 points in less than 20 minutes In other games, Panionios beat Apollon Patras on the road 59-88; Maroussi edged GS Larissa 82-88 and Egaleo got 31 from Keidren Clark as it downed Olympia Larissa, 85-76.

Aris played great defense and didn’t allow Olympiacos to play its uptempo game, forcing the Reds to their second defeat. Massey was the hero with 15 points, 6 rebounds and a crucial steal with 40 seconds left to help secure the win. Terrell Castle added 15 points, 4 assists and 3 steals, Alex Scales had 14 points, 3 assists and 3 steals, Dimitris Tsaldaris 11 points and Mike Wilkinson 10 points for Aris. Scoonie Penn led Olympiacos with 22 points, 3 assists and 4 steals, while Alex Acker had 18 points and 8 boards, but also 8 turnovers, and Panagiotis Vassilopoulos posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Olympiacos played without Sofoklis Schortsanitis and Nikos Barlos, both due to injuries. In Kipseli, Panathinaikos registered an easy 57-83 win over Panellinios. Tony Delk returned after missing the Euroleague game against Unicaja Malaga with 14 points, while Dimitris Diamantidis had 10 points and grabbed 6 boards. Robertas Javtokas added 10 points and 5 rebounds. For Panellinios, Anthony Goldwire, Nikos Argyropoulos and Kostas Karapostolou scored 8 points each.

PAOK had little problems beating Makedonikos at home, 89-67. Blagota Sekulic led the winners with 20 points, while Jason Parker had 19 points, 4 assists and 4 steals, Giannis Kalabokis 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and Nikos Kouvelas 10 points. Serg Jovanovic led Makedonikos with 17 points. AEK also had an easy time downing Olympias Patras at home, 75-53. Jasmin Perkovic had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals, Brent Scott finished the game with 12 points and 9 boards and Nestoras Kommatos added 11 points. Steve Burtt scored 11 points for the visitors.
