Polish League, Game 7: November 18-19, 2006
Prokom Trefl Sopot lost at Kotwica Kolobrzeg 79-78 to fall out of first place in the Polish League. Bergson Slask, which edged Polpak S.A. Swiecie 62-64, moved into first place with a 6-1 record. Prokom, now 5-2, is joined by Week 7 winners Anwil Wloclawek, Turow Zgorzelec and Czarni Slupsk in second place. Prokom traveled to Kolobrzeg without Adam Wojcik. The game was even and decided in the closing minute when Kotwica's Brandon Hughes made a pair of free throws and Filip Dylewicz missed a three-pointer at the other end. Hughes led Kotwica with 23 points and 7 assists and Tomasz Mrozek added 15. Prokom got 13 from Donatas Slanina and 12 from Huseyin Besok. Anwil recovered after its unexpected loss to Kager Gdynia last week with an away win at AZS Koszalin 74-82. Anwil controlled the game from start to finish as Mark Dickel had 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, Seid Hajric added 20 points and 8 rebounds and Gatis Jahovics finished with 17. Michael Haynes and Brandon Spann scored 16 points apiece in defeat. Bergson Slask had a great finish and after weak first half and came back to beat Polpak Swiecie 62-64. Aleksandar Dimitrowski led the winners with 15 points, Oliver Stevic added 13, while Dean Oliver finished with 11. Marcin Sroka led the hosts with 18 points, while Harding Nana had 14 points and 13 rebounds. Turow Zgorzelec topped Gipsar Stal Ostrow 66-74. Lukasz Koszarek led the winners with 14 points, while Robert Witka added 13 and 7 rebounds. Arturs Brunins and Wojciech Szawarski scored 11 each for Gipsar. In other games, Polpharma got 19 points and 8 rebounds from Patrick Okafor at it beat Kager 58-70 and Czarni Slupsk downed Polonia Warszawa 54-63 behind Miah Davis and Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz, who scored 13 points each.
