Polish League, Game 10: December 9-10, 2006
Donatas Slanina - Prokom Trefl Prokom Trefl Sopot was knocked out of first place in the Polish League Saturday following a 54-74 loss at the hands of Turow Zgorzelec. The result, paired with Bergson Slask Wroclaw's win over Unia Tarnow, saw Slask and Turow improve to 8-2 – one game ahead of he defending champion from Sopot. Slask built a double-digit advantage early in the game and never looked back, grabbing an 86-59 victory behind Miha Fon's 14. Meanwhile, Anwil Wloclawek lost for the fourth time in its last six games, falling at home to Stal Ostrow, which won its third consecutive game, 68-80. Energa Czarni Slupsk moved into a three-way tie for third place following a 61-72 away decision at Kotwica Kolobrzeg. Darrel Tucker had 18 points for the winners, while Brandon Hughes finished with 15 for Kotwica. AZS Koszalin won for the second time this season, overcoming Polpak Swiecie 68-61 despite 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists from Kevin Hamilton. Gintaras Kadziulis scored 26 points and Michael Kuebler added 19 for Kager in an 88-75 home win over Polonia SPEC Warsaw. Kenny Walker had 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead Polonia. In Sunday's game, Polpharma Starogard Gdanski topped Znicz Jaroslaw 95-77 behind 27 points and 10 rebounds from Patric Okafor.

Turow held a narrow 31-30 lead at halftime over Prokom, but limited the Euroleague side to 8 third-quarter points and just 24 in the entire second half. The visitors failed to use their advantage inside and were missing attempts from beyond the arc. Turow built a double-digit advantage early in the third period and never looked back. Thomas Kelati led the hosts with 23 points, including 5 triples. Andres Rodriguez added a double-double of 13 points and 12 assists, many via fastbreaks, while Dragisa Drobnjak finished with 16 rebounds. Donatas Slanina scored 11 points as the only Prokom player in double figures. The key stat for Turow was committing just 3 turnovers. Wloclawek trailed by over 20 points in the third period against Ostrow before staging a late comeback, however it wasn't enough as Ostrow held on for its third straight win. Wojciech Szawarski led the winners with 22 points, Tony Atkins added 19 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Seid Hajric had 15 points, while Michael Dickel added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists for Anwil. League-leading scorer Andrzej Pluta was limited to 13 points before being fouled out.
