Israeli League, Game 6: December 10, 2006
Jamie Arnold Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv kept its perfect record intact with an easy 83-105 road win over Ironi Ramat Gan on Sunday. The defending champion rested All-Euroleague center Nikola Vujcic as it improved to 6-0. Meanwhile, Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem dropped to 3-3 after a lackluster 101-66 road loss at Ironi Nahariya. Ironi Ashkelon earned its second straight win bu surprising Maccabi Givat Shmuel 87-95 behind 27 points from Marcus Hatten. Boo Davis scored 26 for Givat Shmuel, which lost its fifth in a row and dropped to 1-5. Hapoel Galil Elyon snapped a three-game losing streak with an 88-75 home win over Rishon Lezion. Sasa Bratic excelled with 26 points for Galil, which took off in the second quarter and never looked back. Bnei Hasharon is back on the winning track with a 77-99 road victory at Afula/Gilboa, thanks to Moshe Mizrahi and Cookie Belcher, who scored 28 and 23 points, respectively. Jermaine Hall tallied 23 points in defeat.

Maccabi Tel Aviv didn't work too hard for its win at Ramat Gan. Jaime Arnold and Yaniv Green filled in for well for Vujcic as Maccabi made a 0-7 run midway through the first quarter and Simas Jasaitis made it 13-21 on the way to an 8-point lead at the end of the quarter. Ramat Gan stormed back to take a 1-point lead, but Arnold cooled things down for the champs on the way to a 42-49 halftime advantage. Before Ramat Gan had time to think about an upset, Maccabi romped to a 12-31 third quarter, led by Jasaitis and Yotam Halperin. The last quarter was extended garbage time as both teams kept their energy for their next match up. Arnold led five Maccabi scorers in double-digits with 21 points, Halperin added 20 with 4 assists, Jasaitis scored 15, Derrick Sharp 13 and Green had 11 point and 9 rebounds. Torraye Braggs led the losing side with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.

Hapoel slumped to a 35-point road loss at Nahariya, 101-66. Mario Austin kept his team in the game in the first quarter, when Nahariya took a 17-14 lead. The hosts started to pull away with a three-point shooting spectacle in the second period. Tamar Slay came off the bench to score 14 points for Hapoel in the first half, but that didn't stop Nahariya from taking a 44-30 lead. Hapoel somehow stayed in the game in the third quarter, after former Jerusalem guard Raviv Limonad was hurt and had to rest. However, with the hosts keeping Hapoel guards Ed Cota and Timmy Bowers scoreless through 30 minutes, Jerusalem trailed 65-49. Things got out of control for Hapoel in the last period. Another former Jerusalemite, Ido Kozikaro, had a perfect second half, and after Meir Tapiro and Jurica Golemac fouled out, each with a technical foul, Hapoel lost all hope. Austin finished with 15 points and 7 rebounds, Slay 14 and Tapiro scored 11. John Gilchrist led six Nahariya scorers in double figures with 22 points, Kozikaro added 21 and Juan Mendez scored 14 with 10 rebounds.
