Kapfenberg Bulls took sole possession of first place in the Austrian League by downing chief rival Allianz Swans Gmunden 76-84 at Volksbank Arena on Friday night. Shawn Ray led the Bulls with 30 points and 12 rebounds as the team won its fifth straight to improve to 10-1. Jasmon Youngblood added 19 for the Bulls. Peter Hutten posted 20 for two-time defending champion Gmunden, which lost for the first time in five games. In other games, Selmir Husanovic scored 32 to lead kelag Wörthersee Piraten to a 99-82 win over Macabido Gunners Oberwart and BSC Raiffeisen Panthers Fürstenfeld bested VIVA 49ers 93-84 behind Jason Detrick's 27 points and 6 assists. In a trio of wins for the away teams, WBC Kraftwerk Wels outlasted Basketball St. Polten 74-80 thanks to Curtis Bobb's 23 points and 10 rebounds, Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg beat Basket Clubs of Vienna 81-90 in a game that saw Kevin Martin post 20 points and 22 rebounds and Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions topped Gussing Knights 77-86.
