Belgian League, Game 16: December 20-22, 2006
Eric Hicks - Telindus OostendeSpirou Charleroi and Sanex Antwerp G each won to remain first and second, respectively, in the Belgian League, but the big surprise came from the third-place team, Dexia Mons-Hainaut, which was upset by last placed R Atomia Brussels 82-72. Charleroi downed Basket Gr Leuven 63-86 on the road as Corey Brewer and Greg Grays scored 18 each. Leuven was still within 7 at halftime, but Spirou put the game away with a 12-20third period to improve to 13-4. Len Matela had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Antwerp over Verviers-Pepinster 71-61. Brussels outscored Mons 22-12 in the second quarter and that would prove to be the difference in the 82-72 final. Elijah Palmer led Brussels with 25 points and 7 assists. Mathias Desaever posted 20 points, Kevin Houston 17, George Evan 12 and Jim Potter 10 for Mons. Okapi Aalstar downed struggling Telindus Oostende 84-67 behind 23 points from league-leading scorer Adam Hall. Eric Hicks had 15 points and 10 boards to lead Oostende, while Lavor Postell added 14 and Rashad Wright 13. Liege Basket defeated Euphony Bree 91-84 as Ronnie McCollum led five Liege scorers in double figures with 19. Br1an Lynch had 23 points and 11 boards for Bree in defeat.
