Italian League All-Star Game: December 23, 2006
Angelo Gigli - Benetton Treviso Team Italy was the victor in the Italian League All-Star Game on Saturday, defeating the Champion All-Stars 96-73 at PalaRuffini in Torino. Massimo Bulleri of Armani Jeans Milano was named MVP after leading all scorers with 21 points and dishing 6 assists. The game featured six Euroleague players and another two from the ULEB Cup. The Champion All-Stars were coached by Benetton Treviso's David Blatt. Team Italy outscored its opponents in each period on the way to a comfortable victory. Angelo Gigli of Benetton had 16 points and 6 rebounds in 17 minutes, Eldo Napoli's Mason Rocca added 12 points and 7 boards and AJ Milano's Danilo Gallinari finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds for Team Italy. Rimas Kaukenas of Montepaschi Siena led the Champion All-Stars with 15 points in 17 minutes, Harold Jamison of Air Avellino posted 13 and Milano's Travis Watson finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Gallinari beat Cantu's Michael Jordan in the three-point shooting contest, while Paul McPherson of TDShop.it Livorno took the slam dunk title.
