Ovarense Aerosoles held off Queluz Sintra Patrimonio Mundial 66-77 on Sunday to improve to 11-1 atop the Portuguese League. Shawn Jackson scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to spark the defending champs, who put the game away late with a 13-27 fourth quarter. Cordell Henry added 19 for Ovarense, while Joao Manuel had 16 off the bench to pace Queluz. On Saturday, second place Benfica Lisbon went on the road to beat CAB Madeira 83-92. Patrick Sparks, Antonio Tavares and Carlos Andrade combined to score half of Benfica's points off the bench. Eric Sandrin scored a game-high 23 to lead the hosts. In other games, Nuno Marçal scored 29 points in 30 minutes as FC Porto crushed Barreirense 111-75 and Jesse Smith and Ricky Woods combined for 45 points and 24 rebounds to lead Ginasio over Belenenses 89-95 in a crucial bottom-of-the-table matchup. Lusitania Angra Patrimonio Mundial had a bye-week.
