Michael Andersen - Prokom Trefl Defending champion Prokom Trefl Sopot destroyed Kager Gdynia 90-52 on Saturday and then checked into a share of first place on Sunday after Turow Zgorzelec lost at Asco Slask Wroclaw 64-53. Michael Andersen led five Prokom players in double figures with 16 points as the team improved to 11-3. Wroclaw is only one win behind them at 10-4. Goran Jagodnik scored 14 points in his debut for Anwil Wloclawek in a comfortable 90-68 decision over Znicz Jaroslaw. In other games, Patrick Okafor and Iwo Kitzinger scored 24 points apiece for Polpharma in an 88-73 win over Czarni Slupsk, which was led by Darrell Tucker’s 17 points. AZS Koszalin needed overtime to beat Kotwica Kolobrzeg 91-95 on the road. Chris Hunter had 25 points and 9 rebounds for winners, while Brandon Hughes finished with 21 and 6 assists. Polpak beat Unia Tarnow 52-65 behind 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists from Kevin Hamilton. Toree Morris posted a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds in defeat.

Prokom returned to the familiar territory of first place by dumping Kager. The Polish champions controlled the game from the beginning and never looked back. Andersen led hosts with 16 points, Adam Wojcik and Justin Hamilton both added 13, and Christian Dalmau and Donatas Slanina finished with 10 each. No Kager player reached double figures. Turow Zgorzelec was perfect from the field, but committed 9 turnovers in the first quarter in an game at Asco Slask. The guests then struggled with their shooting the rest of the way, as Slask built a small lead and kept it till the final buzzer. Miha Fon scored 13 for winners, while Andres Rodriguez led all scorers with 15 for Turow. Anwil Wloclawek won for just the second time in its last seven games. The hosts took an early double-digit advantage and went on to lead by over 20 at the half. Otis Hill had 22 points and Andrzej Pluta 18 for Anwil. Przemyslaw Luszczewski scored 11 to lead Znicz. It was Anwil's first victory under new coach Ales Pipan, after losing on Wednesday at home in a postponed game to Polpak Swiecie 59-64.
