Dutch League, Game 20: January 4-6, 2007
It was a successful week for the Demon Astronauts, who registered back-to-back Dutch League wins and climbed to the fifth spot of the standings with a 8-9 record. EiffelTowers Den Bosch stays atop the league table with a 17-2 record and is five games ahead everyone else despite not playing this week. The Astronauts beat the Polynorm Giants 75-73 in Amsterdam on Thursday. Jovo Glavinic led the winners with 20 points while Jamaal Brown added 17 and won the game with a blocked shot on Rogier Jansen in the final possession of the game. The Astronauts added a 85-84 home win against Woon! Aris on Saturday. Glavinic and Brown each had 20 points for the winners. It all came down to the final play, in which Will Chavis buried a big three-pointer to win the game for the Astronauts. The Hanzevast Capitals showed their power by thrashing Upstairs Weert 62-85 on the road on Saturday behind 19 points from Darnell Hinson, who led 6 players in double digits. In other games played on Saturday, Rotterdam overwhelmed Landstede 61-93, Zorg & Zekerheid topped Onmiworld 76-85 behind 27 points from Shelton Colwell while the Giants downed Matrixx Magixx 100-73.
