Bulgarian League, Game 16: January 13, 2007
Lamont Jones - Lukoil Lukoil Academic and CSKA Sofia remained neck and neck atop the Bulgarian League table with 15-1 records after big wins on Saturday. Academic defeated Cherno More IG 84-74. The game was knotted at 60-60 at the end of the third quarter, but the hosts ended it with an 8-0 closing run. Lamont Jones led the way, scoring 22 points and dishing 6 assists, Boyko Mladenov chipped in 15 and Todor Stoykov sank 12. CSKA edged Balkan on the road 71-79 behind 22 points and 10 rebounds from Adrian Pledger. In other games, Levski topped Yambol 86-95 as Stanislav Slaveykov poured in 29 points, Spartak Pleven thrashed Rilski Sortist 96-77 and Dunav beat Spartak MVR 80-89.
