CSKA Moscow regained the top spot in the Russian League standings by downing Unics Kazan 94-75 at home on Saturday, in one of the most anticipated games of the season. Trajan Langdon paced the winners with 28 points on 4-of-5 two-pointers and 6-of-8 from downtown. Matjaz Smodis and David Andersen each added 15 while Theodoros Papaloukas scored 10 points and dished 15 assists for CSKA. Ksystof Lavrinovic had 18 points for Unics, Jarod Stevenson and Saulius Stombergas each added 13 while Yahor Meshcharakou and Darjus Lavrinovic tallied 10 apiece for the guests. Darjus Lavrinovic added 11 rebounds for a double-double. A 13-0 run which Nikita Kourbanov capped with a fast break basket allowed CSKA to get a 23-13 lead after 10 minutes, while Langdon and Smodis helped the current Euroleague champion to boost its margin to 48-29 at halftime. Three-pointer by Smodis, Langdon and Andersen made CSKA keep a 71-51 margin after 30 minutes, enough to seal the outcome. Dynamo Moscow stayed third at 10-3 by simply overwhelming Standart 89-52 at home on Sunday. Sergei Bykov had 21 points for Dynamo, Sergey Monya added 18 and Eddie Gill 16 for the winners, who rested its entire starting five in this game.
