Andrius Slezas - Lietuvos Rytas Lietuvos Rytas thrashed perennial Latvian champions Ventspils 102-76 in a Baltic League action on Tuesday. The hosts climbed to second place in the Division I table with a 3-1 record, while Ventspils dropped to the bottom of the table at 1-3. L. Rytas built a 26-13 margin already at the end of the first quarter, but Ventspils climbed back to within 39-34 at halftime. However, back from the locker rooms. L. Rytas seemed unstoppable as it scored 39 points in 10 minutes to go up 78-56 entering in the last quarter. Andrius Slezas led the way for L. Rytas with 30 points, including an amazing 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Janis Bluns added 16, Joao Paolo Batista 14 and Darius Pakamanis and Tomas Delininkaitis scored 10 apiece. Ivars Timermanis led Ventspils with 17 points, Justin Love contributed 11 and Aigars Vairogs produced 10. In Division II games, Martin Muursepp scored 14 and grabbed 7 boards to help Rock remain undefeated with a 74-85 win at Kalev/Cramo and Neptunas went on the road to top Atletas 83-98 behind Andrius Petkunas's 31 points.
