Swiss League, Game 15: January 27, 2007
Olympic Fribourg increased its lead over second place Birstal Starwings in the Swiss League on Saturday thanks to a home win over Vevey 87-65. Fribourg raised its record to 12-1 thanks to a 26-8 run in the third quarter, which closed the contest against the team at the bottom of the table. David Esterkamp led the way with 15 points, while Harold Mrazek, Brandon Polk and Lorenzo Orr added 12 apiece. Meanwhile, Birstal Starwings remained second with a 10-3 mark after enjoying a bye-week. Lugano Tigers recorded an 86-93 road win at Meyrin Grand Sacconex after leading 33-41 at halftime. Jean-Baptiste Bah led the way with 31 points and Edwin Draughan added 20 for the winners. BC Boncourt topped Geneva Devils 85-70 to bring their record to 7-7 as Kelyon Block chipped in 27 points and Lindsay Tait drilled 18. Nicholas Porchet and Valentin Wegmann bagged 19 apiece to help Monthey beat Sion Herens 81-74 and Lausanne Morges outlasted Nyon 91-80 thanks to Tony Brown's 27 points.
