Lithuanian League, Game 10: January 26-27, 2007
Kirk Penney Zalgiris Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris Kaunas keep tying atop the Lithuanian League standings, each with a 9-1 record. L.Rytas did not find much trouble to down Siauliai 84-61 in Vilnius on Friday. Arturas Jomantas led the winners with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Marijus Petravivius added 15 points and 13 rebounds for another double-double, Andrius Slezas had 13 points and Janis Blums 11 in an easy win for Rytas, which led 40-31 at halftime and extended its margin at the end of each period. Meanwhile, Zalgiris overwhelmed Sakalai 112-57 in Kaunas on Saturday. Kirk Penney led the way with 28 points. Vaidotas Peciukas added 18, Vytenis Jasikevicius had 16, Hanno Mottola 14, Mantas Kalnietis posted a double-double of 10 points and 15 assists while Darius Silinskis also had 10 points for Zalgiris, which led 50-21 at halftime and never looked back. In other games, Panevezys beat Atletas 74-96 on Friday and then added a 98-81 home win against Neptunas on Saturday. Finally, Nevezis edged Suduva 66-69 on the road on Saturday.
