German League All-Star Game: January 27, 2007
KolnArena - German League All-Star Game The German League took a break this weekend to celebrate its annual All-Star Game in front of over 13,000 fans in KoelnArena, Cologne. In the central event of the day, the North All-Star team downed the South 112-98 on Saturday. Demond Mallet of RheinEnergie earned MVP honors by leading the North with 14 points and 10 assists. Sharrod Ford of Alba Berlin led all Northern scorers with 21 points, Judson Wallace added 15, Nick Jacobson 14 and D'or Fischer 10. Nino Garris had 21 points for the South while Darren Fenn of Brose Baskets added 16. The North led 62-47 at halftime and boosted its margin to 86-65 after 30 minutes, enough to seal the win. Jared Newson of the Bayer Giants Leverkusen became the slam dunk champion by downing Fabian Greiser in the final, while Jacobson of Eisbaren Bremenhaven won the three-point shootout, defeating Michael Schmak and Je'Kel Foster in the title round.
