Gabrans and Johnson - Ventspils Ventspils stays unstoppable in the Latvian League and registered consecutive wins this weekend to improve to 5-0 in the standings. Ventspils opened the week with a 99-78 home win against Bumerangs. Darlon Johnson, Dusan Jelic and Justin Love paced the winners each with 14 points. Akeslis Vairogs added 11 while Pavels Veselovs, Raimonds Vaikulis ans Raimonds Gabrans had 10 apiece for Ventspils, that led 49-43 at halftime and boosted its margin to 79-56 after 30 minutes to seal the win. Ventspils rounded a perfect week with a 116-72 home win against Liepaja. Johnson paced the winners with 24 points, Uvis Helmanis and Eddie Hannon each added 15, Veselovs had 14 while Vairogs and Jelic tallied 13 apiece in an easy home win for Ventspils. In other games, ASK/Juniors beat Falco 52-71, ASK Riga thrashed Bumerangs 79-112 while Valmiera edge Liepaja 69-72.
