Greek League, Game 16: February 10-11, 2007
Jeremiah Massey - Aris TT Bank There were no surprises in the Greek League over the weekend as the top three teams and Euroleague sides all won. Panathinaikos used an amazing 24-4 finish to crush AEK 83-53 as Sani Becirovic scored 20 points. Aris Thessaloniki overcame visiting Makedonikos 65-53 with Jeremiah Massey recording an impressive double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Olympiacos had an even easier time, hosting Apollon Patras and winning 95-71 as Alex Acker scored 19. PAOK climbed to fourth place after beating AE Larissa 83-74 thanks to a 24 point-performance by Vlado Scepanovic. Panionios had to settle for a 71-63 defeat at the hands of the other Larissa team, Olympia, which got 19 from Matt Walsh. In other games, Panellinios escaped Egaleo 83-85 as Mihalis Pelekanos exploded for 34 to answer Keidren Clark's 34, while Olympiada Patras flattened Maroussi 72-44 as Steve Burt scored 28 points.
Panathinaikos used excellent shooting – 50% from outside and 51% from inside the arc – to overcome AEK in the capital city's derby at OAKA Olympic Hall, the site of this season's Euroleague Final Four. The Greens took charge of the game early. When AEK reacted to cut the margin to 48-58, Panathinaikos reeled off an outstanding 24-4 run to finish in style. Besides Becirovic's 20 points and 8 rebounds, Kostas Tsartsaris added 13 points and Dimos Dikoudis and Dimitrios Diamantidis poured in 10 apiece. Only Jasmin Perkovic with 19 points reached double digits for AEK.

Aris built a 34-19 difference by halftime and did not have to play full-speed to beat Makedonikos at Alexandrion Melathron. Massey posted 21 points, while Simonas Serapinas was hot from behind the arc, nailing four triples for his 12 points. Young Dimitris Karadolamis fought for the guests, but his 20 points and 11 from Stavros Hatzipetrou weren't enough. Olympiacos coach Pini Gershon seized the opportunity to go deep to his bench as the Reds faced no trouble against Apollon Patras 95-71. Sofoklis Schortsianitis returned to action with 12 points and 5 boards in 17 minutes. Acker had 19, Scoonie Penn 12, while big men Adrija Zizic and Giannis Bouroussis scored 10 each. Kostas Paschalis and Chris Garner had 15 and 11, respectively, for Apollon.
