Portuguese League, Game 25: February 17-18, 2007
Another week, another win for Ovarense Aerosoles, that leads the Portuguese League standings with a 20-2 record. Ovarense edged CAB Madeira 75-68 at home behind 18 points from Cordell Henry. Elvis Evora posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds while Gregory Stempin had 13 for Ovarense. Nate Daniels had 21 points for CAB, that only rallied once the outcome was clear late in the final period. Lusitania Angra PM improved to 15-7 and is third in the Portuguese League board by edging Barreirense 77-82 on the road also on Saturday. Graham Brown paced the winners with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Joao Gomes had 25 points for Barreirense while Cortney Scott added 21 and 11 rebounds. A 0-6 run in the final 2 minutes seal the win, as Lusitania got a key 71-78 lead with 32 seconds to go and cruised to a big win. Queluz Sintra PM improved to 8-15 by edging Belenenses Hyundai Lusifor 80-82 on the road with a game-winning break by Joao Manuel with 17 seconds to go. Earl Brown led Queluz with 21 points while Jason Robinson had 24 for Belenenses. Last but not least, Casino Figueira Ginasio upset Porto Ferpinta 75-62 on Sunday.
