Swiss League, Game 18: February 24, 2007
Olympic Fribourg continued its march through the Swiss League on Saturday with a 75-86 road win at Meyrin Grand Sacconex to stay atop the league table with 15-1 record. The game was immediately easy for the visitors, who led 12-25 after 10 minutes and extended their advantage to 30-53 at halftime. Sacconex was able to trim the gap late in the game, but Fribourg's lead was never in doubt. Dave Esterkamp was Fribourg's main contributor with 23 points points, Dave Polk nailed 17 and Tresore Quidome added 15. Lugano Tigers topped Geneva Devils 77-67 behind 26 points from Edwin Draughan, while Birstal Starwings thrashed Vevey Riviera 68-97 on the road as Jarred McCurry peppered the nets for 44. Lugano and Birstal now share second place in the league standings with 12-4 record. In other games, Monthey took a 73-81 win at Nyon behind 18 points by Yuanta Holland, while Sion Herens edged Lausanne Morges 86-82 as Mohamed Hachad scored 27 points.
