Turkish League, Game 22: March 2-4, 2007
Marcus Haislip - Efes Pilsen Fenerbahce Ulker recorded one of its easiest victories of the season by beating bottom of the standings Tekel 69-92 on the road to remain alongside Turk Telekom in first place with 20 wins in 22 games. Turk Telekom outlasted Mutlu Aku Selcuk University 76-83 as Erwin Dudley led five Telekom scorers with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Marcus Haislip's double-double helped Efes Pilsen end its losing streak with a 66-46 blowout win over Alpella. Besiktas Cola Turka moved within a win of fourth place with a 66-49 win over Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi. Gerald Fitch had 21 as Galatasaray Cafe Crown downed Banvit 74-77. In other games, Darussafaka edged Beykoz 82-84 and Oyak Renault topped Tofas 74-69. CASA TED Kolejliler hosts Pinar Karsiyaka in the last game of the week on Monday.

Fenerbahce had little trouble overpowering last place Tekel 69-92 on the road. Fener used a fast start behind Ibrahim Kutluay and Mirsad Turkcan to take a 16-24 lead in the first quarter. Fener keep on extending its lead in the second period through the three-point shooting of Kutluay and Damir Mrsic for a 34-51 advantage at halftime. A Mrsic triple made the gap 27 points late in the third quarter, making the last period a matter of protocol. Kutluay lead Fener with 20 points, Semih Erden scored 14 and grabbed 11 rebounds, Turkcan had 11 points plus 10 rebounds, Mrsic scored 13 points and Rasim Basak had 10. Cornelius Richardson had 13 points and James Butler 12 for Tekel.

Efes Pilsen ended a three-game losing streak with a 66-46 crushing of relegation-threatened Alpella. Marshall Strickland and Caner Oner created problems for Efes in the first quarter, but Drew Nicholas and Antonio Granger helped the home team to lead 16-15 after 10 minutes. Efes strengthened its the defense in the second period and held Alpella to 6 points as it led 27-21 at halftime. Efes matched its first-half total in the third quarter alone as Granger and Haislip fired in triples for a 54-33. The lead peaked at 27 points in the last period as Efes coasted to victory. Haislip lead Efes with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Granger added 13, Ermal Kuqo 11 and Kerem Gonlum 10. Oner led Alpella with 13 points, Danaelle Withers added 11 and Strickland 9.

Besiktas Cola Turka won its second straight game after a four-game losing streak by outclassing Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi 66-49. The hosts used a 14-0 run at the beginning of the second period and a 15-0 run in the first 7 minutes of the last period to seal the game. Cevher Ozer led Besiktas with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Aubrey Reese and Ivan McFarlin scored 11 each. Umit Sonkol scored 11 points to lead Mersin.
