Croatian League, second phase Game 1: March 7, 2007
Andrew Wisniewski - Cibona The Croatian League second phase started on Wednesday and Zagreb came its first leader by simply overwhelming Svjetlost Brod 115-73 at home. Josep Sesar led the winners with 24 points on 5-of-5 two-pointers and 4-of-4 triples in just 19 minutes. Denis Vrsaljko added 17 and Dwayne Broyles had 15 for Zagreb, that hit 47 of 66 shots in this big home win. Cibona did not find much trouble to down Kvarner Novi Resort 69-91 on the road despite losing Chris Warren and Andrew Wisniewski due to respective minor injuries during the game. Wisniewski paced the winners with 23 points, Brent Wright added 16, Marin Rozic and Marton Bader each had 14 while Warren scored 12 points for Cibona, that led 57-59 after 30 minutes before breaking the game in the final period. Zadar needed overtime to edge Cedevita 92-100 on the road. Carl English led the winners with 28 points while Frano Colak added 24. Damir Milacic had 19 points for Cedevita, including a triple that forced overtime, 84-84. Zadar broke the game early in the extra period and cruised to a big win. Last but not least, Split beat Borik Puntamika 82-91 behind 29 points from Larry Ayuso.
