Swiss League, Game 20: March 10, 2007
Olympic Fribourg took a step closer to a historic national cup and Swiss League double by topping second-place Birstal Starwings 87-79 on Saturday. Harold Mrazek scored 24 as Fribourg improved to 17-1 – opening a four-victory lead over Birstal. The hosts led 32-22 at the end of the first quarter, but Jarred McCurry, who tallied 30 points for the visitors, helped the Starwings climb within 48-47 at halftime. Olympic took control in the third and never looked back, holding for a crucial win. Lugano Tigers edged Lausanne Morges 78-72 to move into a tie with Birstal for second place at 13-5 as Edwin Draughan posted 23 points. Sion Herens downed Boncourt 67-59 behind 21 points from Vincent Thomas. In other games, Nyon thrashed Riviera 84-68 as Gino Lanisse and Cory Largent scored 22 apiece and Meyrin Grand Sacconex stunned Geneva Devils 80-75.
