Croatian League, second phase Game 2: March 13-14, 2007
Levour Warren Cibona Cibona and Split tie atop the Croatian League standings as the only teams unbeaten after 2 games. Cibona did not find much trouble to thrash Svjetlost Brod 111-85 in Zagreb on Tuesday. Chris Warren led the winners with 18 points. Barisa Krasic and Marijan Mance each added 16 points, Marin Rozic had 15, Marton Bader 14 and Andrew Wisniewski 13 for Cibona, whose center Luksa Andric left the game due to an injury. Ljubo Samadan had 34 points on 14-of-17 shooting for Borik, that trailed 62-50 at halftime and never recovered. Borik Puntamika provided the biggest surprise this week by edging Zadar 88-91 on the road also on Tuesday. Roko Ciklic had 20 points for the winners, Miro Dundov added 18 and Marko Zorz 11 for Borik. Carl English had 30 points for Zadar, whose head coach Petar Popovic resigned after the game. Borik led 67-77 midway through the final period and held off a Zadar comeback to win the game. In other games, Cedevita beat Kvarner Novi Resort 79-88 behind 19 points from Adam Harrington, while Split bested Zagreb 92-84. Larry Ayuso paced the winners with 34 points on 8-of-14 triples while Eric Barkley added 23 for Split.
