Austrian League, Regular Season, Game 3: October 13-15, 2007
Defending champion Allianz Swans Gmunden and BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld set the stage for a top-of-the-table battle next week by winning to remain undefeated after three games in the Austrian League. Gmunden survived its first test by outlasting Kraftwerk Wels 71-65 in Monday's game, while Furstenfeld topped kelag Worthersee Piraten 78-90. Deteri Mayes scored 25 to lead the Swans, who sputtered in the fourth quarter, allowing Wels to climb back before grabbing the win. Peter Hutter added 14, Matthias Mayer 12 and Ian Boylan had 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Elias Anderson led Wels with 11 points. Furstenfeld outscored Piraten 14-26 in the third quarter to make the difference in its game. Samo Grum led the way with 27 points and Miljan Goljovic added 20. Kapfenberg Bulls ran over UBSC Graz 94-60 as Branimir Josipovic led six Bulls in double figures with 17 points. Jason Johnson made 11 of 12 shots for 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Oberwart Gunners over BasketClubs Vienna 105-80, Arkadia Traiskirchen got 24 from Spencer Rhynes as it coasted past UBC St. Polten 110-67 and Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg defeated okoStadt Gussing Knights 82-69 as Christoph Nagler and Kevin Leon Martin netted 19 points apiece.
