Turkish President's Cup: October 10, 2007
Ibrahim Kutluay - Fenerbahce Ulker Fenerbahce Ulker won the first title of the Turkish season by beating arch rival Efes Pilsen 79-77 for the President's Cup at Ankara Ataturk Arena in the nation's capital. Fener, which enjoyed the majority of the support from the 7,000 fans on hand, saw a 15-point first-half advantage and a 17-point second-half advantage wiped away before securing the win. Efes led by 3 with three minutes remaining, however Will Solomon took over down the stretch. Solomon, who scored 11 of his 19 points in the game's final five minutes, hit a jumper from the left corner with 0.8 seconds to go to bring the victory to his team. Ibrahim Kutluay lead Fenerbahce Ulker with 23 points, Solomon had 19, grabbed 5 rebounds and had 3 assists and Oguz Savas added 12 points. For Efes Pilsen, Andre Hutson scored 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and Kenny Gregory added 21. Drew Nicholas scored 7, while Rashad Wright and Serkan Erdogan went scoreless as Efes made just 2 of 14 three-point attempts. Meanwhile Fenerbahce hit 11 of 30 threes. It was the first President's Cup for Fener in 13. Efes Pilsen leads the cup race with 7 wins in 12 finals.
