The still undefeated Sport Lisboa Benfica sent an important message in the Portuguese League by downing defending champion Ovarense Dolce Vita 89-73 for its 13th win in as many games. CAB Madeira SAD is second in the standings with a 12-1 record, and Ovarense is third despite of falling to 10-3. Sergio Ramos had another impressive performance to help Benfica beat Ovarense, as he led five Benfica scorers in double digits with 22 points, while Rui Mota notched 17 points for the guests. Madeira topped Vagos NorbainLusavouga 77-66 behind 22 points from Jason Smith and 13 points from Nuno Perdigao. In other games, VSC edged FC Porto Ferpinta 65-63 and Casino Ginasio defeated Fisica Torres Vedras 83-69.
