Jerry Johnson - Spirou BasketSpirou Charleroi handed new Dexia Mons-Hainaut head coach Arik Shivek a defeat in his debut as the defending champs picked up a 66-60 win. The victory keeps Spirou in a pack of four teams with two victories apiece. Jerry Johnson produced 15 points and 4 assists in just 21 minutes to lead the winners. Mons held a 37-39 halftime lead, but Spirou dominated the third quarter 20-6 to secure the victory. Len Matela added 10 points and 8 rebounds and Andre Riddick produced 7 points, 10 boards and 3 blocks for the winners. Brandon Costner paced Mons with 16 points, Dominique Coleman added 13 and Ben Ebong posted 11 points and 9 rebounds in defeat. The Antwerp Giants handed Base BC Oostende its first loss 87-76 behind Christophe Beghin's 26-point effort. Belgacom Liege Basket kept Generali Okapi Aalstar winless with an 81-86 road win. Josh Duncan led Liege with 22 points and 8 rebounds. And VOO Verviers-Pepinster earned its first win after edging Optima Gent 80-77 as Darnell Wilson posted 17 points and 8 boards.
