Brose Baskets lifted its second German Cup trophy - its first since 1992 - by edging Deutsche Bank Skyliners 76-75 in the title game in Frankfurt on Sunday. Predrag Suput paced the winners with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Anton Gavel added 13 while Elton Brown had 12 for Brose. Dragan Labovic had 20 points for the Skyliners while Aubrey Reese added 14. Suput had 12 points in a 20-7 opening run and a three-pointer by Robert Garrett kept his team way ahead, 25-12, after 10 minutes. Labovic singlehandedly managed to bring the Skyliners back to life but Suput and Brown restored a double-digit Brose lead, 43-32, at halftime. Brose kept a safe lead for the best part of the second half and Brian Roberts gave his team a 74-63 edge with 1:20 left. The Skyliners were not done, as Reese, Pascal Roller and Jimmy McKinney got their team within 74-72 with 7 seconds left. Suput sealed the outcome with free throws, as a final triple by Reese was too little, too late for the Skyliners.
