British League, Regular Season, Game 19, January 22-24, 2010
The Sheffield Sharks thrashed Essex Pirates 101-77 to stay atop the British League table with a 16-4 record. Mike Cook scored 28 points and Tafari Tooney 20 for the Sharks, while Tanner Adu had 20 for the guests. Newcastle Eagles recorded back-to-back wins against Worcester Wolves, 92-71 behind 31 points from Joe Chapman, and 64-88 away with London Capital as Charles Smith scored 27 for the second placed team in the table with a 15-5 record. The Worcester Wolves edged Plymouth Raiders 83-85 behind 19 points from Harry Disy, and lost 82-83 on Sunday at home after an extra session with Worthing Thunder, with Reggie Bratton of the guests leading all the scorers with 30 points and scoring the game-winner with 18 seconds left in overtime. Cheshire Jets scored back-to-back wins by beating Everton Tigers 87-98 and Guildford Heat 97-74. Chez Marks scored 22 to lead his side in the challenge with Everton, and Colin O'Reilly bagged 19 on Sunday against Heat. Glasgow Rocks won twice on the road during the weekend. On Saturday they thrashed Leicester Riders 66-87 behind 24 points from Jessie Sapp and 23 from Rob Yanders, while on Sunday they defeated Plymouth Riders 75-83 led by Yanders’s 30 points.
