Lithuanian League Finals, Game 2: May 7, 2010
Lietuvos Rytas bounced back from its initial loss in the best-of-seven Lithuanian League finals by downing archrivals Zalgiris 64-75 in Kaunas on Friday. Series is tied at 1-1 and L. Rytas has regained the home court advantage, as it hosts Game 3 in Vilnius on Monday. Kenan Bajramovic paced the winners with 24 points on 8-of-9 two-pointers. Martynas Gecevicius added 18, Arturas Jomantas had 13 while Milko Bjelica got 10 for L. Rytas. Dainius Salenga had 15 points for Zalgiris while Mantas Kalnietis added 12 for the hosts. A late basket by Jomantas gave L. Rytas a 17-19 edge after 10 minutes. L. Rytas used a 2-13 run that Gecevicius capped with a triple to break the game open, 26-37, late in the first half. Nothing changed from that moment, as Zalgiris only managed to get within single digits, 62-69, with 58 seconds left. Free throws by Donatas Zavackas and Gecevicius kept L. Rytas out of trouble for good. In the best-of-five third place playoff series, Siauliai edged Juvtnus 94-97 in Game 2 to get a 2-0 lead. Mindaugas Kuzminskas led the winners with 23 points. Deivydas Gailius added 14, Derrick Low and Arvydas Siksnius each had 11 while Vytautas Sarakauskas got 10 for Siauliai. Darius Pakamakis missed a three-point shot at the buzzer that would have taken the game to overtime.
