Veteran Davor Marcelic scored 24 points and Smiljan Pavic posted 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocked shots as Krka beat Union Olimpija 79-87 at Hala Tivoli in the Slovenian capital to wrest the title away in the fifth game of the best-of-five finals. Pavic, who averaged 12.7 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists in Krka's three wins in the series, was named finals MVP. Goran Ikonic nailed a pair of three-pointers and Pavic added a pair of tip-ins in a 2-14 first-quarter run that gave Krka the lead for good. The visitors finished the first quarter ahead 13-20, increased the lead to 25-45 at halftime and saw it peak at 23 early in the second quarter. Olimpija rallied in the closing minutes, but never seriously threatened Krka, which celebrated its third Slovenian League crown. Ikonic finished with 14 points and Simon Petrov added 13 for the new champs. Saso Ozbolt led Olimpija with 22 points, Jure Lalic added 16, Jaka Klobucar 14 and Edin Bavcic scored 12 in defeat.
