A week after knocking off the defending champion GasTerra Flames, Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden took sole possession of first place. ZZ Leiden edged Bergen op Zoom 91-88 as Monta McGhee stepped up with 21 points and Thomas Jackson tallied 17 points and 6 assists. The win took Leiden’s record to 30-6. Meanwhile the Flames slipped to 29-7 after losing in double-overtime at De Friesland Aris. The trio of Manny Adako, Todd Brown and Mark Sanchez scored 19 points apiece and combined for 25 rebounds to lead the hosts. Matt Bauscher scored 20 and Matt Haryasz added 17 points and 8 rebounds in defeat. Third-placed Eiffel Towers Den Bosch roared past Rotterdam 61-101 as Kees Akerboom Jr. and Jeroen van der List scored 19 each. In other games, Landstede Zwolle beat Magixx Playing for Kids Rights Nijmegen 76-65 as Nate Rohnert shined with 31 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and ABC Amsterdam downed BS Weert 73-72.
