In an all-Euroleague battle of Adriatic League leaders, Maccabi Electra handed Union Olimpija its first defeat of the season, 67-66, on Saturday night to take a 7-0 record and sole possession of first place. Maccabi won by the skin of its teeth, entering the fourth quarter with a 54-45 lead that evaporated as Olimpija outscored the hosts 13-21, but Yogev Ohayon stole the ball with 20 seconds left and coasted in for a layup to give the hosts a 66-62 lead that held up. Lior Eliyahu led Maccabi with 19 points and 9 rebounds, while David Blu added 13. Olimpija, which slipped to 7-1, got 15 points from Deon Thompson and 12 from Sasu Salin. With its 89-67 victory on Sunday night against Krka, Cedevita entered a tie for second with Olimpija, as Miro Bilan scored 19 and Marino Bazdaric added 14 to pace the home squad. Partizan mt:s missed a chance to join the tie for second when it fell to Zlatorog, 72-62, to end the week at 6-2. Vladimir Panic and Daniel Vujasinovic scored 20 points apiece and Panic added a 7 assists for the winners. Partizan got 12 points each from Miroslav Raduljica and Vladimir Lucic. Resurgent KK Zagreb coasted to victory against Helios Domzale, 72-57, to even its record at 4-4. Zagreb jumped out front 21-11 in the first quarter and led all the way behind 20 points by Mario Kasun and 14 by Sean May. In an all-Eurocup matchup, Budocnost took care of Cibona 85-69 as Nikola Vucevic came up big with 30 points and 9 rebounds, and Marko Popovich added 16 points. Cibona got 14 points from Davor Kus and 13 apiece from Tomislav Zubcic and Damjan Rudez. Both teams are tied at 5-3. In other games, Radnicki beat Crvena Zvezda on the road 84-79, and Hemofarm Stada pulled out a 74-70 win against Siroki.
