Krunoslav Simon - KK Zagreb COKK Zagreb CO handed Adriatic League leader Maccabi Electra its first loss of the season Saturday night in the Croatian capital 81-74. The win lifted Zagreb to the top half of the table with a 6-5 record, while 9-1 Maccabi remains first ahead of Cedevita, which has the same amount of wins, but an additional loss. Zagreb used a 23-17 fourth quarter and superior three-point shooting – hitting 12 of 21 from deep compared with Maccabi’s 3 of 14 - to secure the win. Krunoslav Simon led the winners with a game-leading 26 points. Mario Kasun and Damir Rancic added 12 each for the winners. Maccabi was paced by Devin Smith and Keith Langford, who scored 12 apiece. Cedevita downed Siroki WWin 74-60. Led by Marino Bazdaric’s 15 points and Dontaye Draper’s 11, the hosts took control of the game in the second quarter and never relinquished it. Jakov Vladovic, Fran Pilepic and Zeljko Sakic scored 11 points apiece for Siroki. In a second all-Euroleague matchup, Partizan mt:s pounded Olimpija at home Sunday night 93-69, dominating the inside game with a 41-23 rebound differential. Dragan Milosavljevic led the winners with 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting from downtown, and Dusan Kecman added 15. The losers got 25 points from Deon Thompson. Partizan bumped its record to 8-3, while Olimpija is now tied at 7-4 with Buducnost and Cibona, both of which won. Buducnost held off a 23-13 fourth-quarter rally by Hemofarm Stada to eke out a 77-78 road win on Saturday evening, led by Bojan Krstovic and Jermaine Andersen, who scored 15 points apiece. The loser’s got 17 points from Ivan Maras. Cibona used a 30-16 second quarter to handily defeat Crvena Zvezda 87-73 at home Friday night. Led by Tomislav Zubcic, who had 14 points, the host’s shot 72.4% from two-point range. Zvezda was paced by Bojan Subotic’s 11 points. Krka got out front of Helios 29-15 in the first quarter and never looked back, winning 84-64 at home on Friday night. The hosts grabbed 42 rebounds compared with the visitors’ 25. Finally, Radnicki overwhelmed Zlatorog 88-71 behind David Simon’s 26 points.
