Caleb Green - Belgacom SpirouDefending Belgian League champion Belgacom Spirou Charleroi is back in familiar territory after a win Saturday helped propel it back to sole possession of first place. Spirou bested Stella Artois Leuven Bears 64-59 to improve to 5-1, while the team it had shared the top sport with, Generali Okapi Aalstar, lost on the road. Leuven held a 49-50 edge over Spirou after three quarters, but the Andre Riddick anchored a strong defense and Caleb Green nailed a pair of clutch triples as the hosts took control down the stretch for the win. Green paced the winners with 15 points, Jiri Welsch added 12 and Justin Hamilton helped with 7 points and 10 rebounds. Ade Dagunduro paced Leuven with 16 points. Meanwhile Port of Antwerp Giants stopped Aalstar 71-60 as Michael Roll scored 18 and Salah Mejri posted a double-double. Meanwhile Dexia Mons-Hainaut held on for a 64-67 win at Belgacom Liege Basket. Mons joined Aalstar, Antwerp and idle Telenet Oostende in a four-way tie for second place at 4-2. Sean Singletary scored 15 and Ronell Taylor 13 for Mons.
