Elan Chalon/Saone won the Semaine des As for the first time in club history on Sunday after beating BCM Gravelines 66-73 in Roanne. The success comes one year after Gravelines downed Chalon in the title game of the same competition. This year Blake Schilb starred for Chalon. He earned MVP honors after producing 13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the final. Malcolm Delaney and Ilian Evtimov helped Chalon jump out to a double figure lead in the opening quarter, which ended 13-20. Gravelines closed to 29-35 at halftime, but never got close enough to take the lead. Chalon pushed out to 42-52 after three quarters. Gravelines rallied late and closed the gap to 4, but Chalon held on for the monumental win. Steed Tchicamboud scored 15 for the winners, Alade Aminu posted 13 points and 8 rebounds and Delaney and Evtimov netted 12 apiece. Juby Johnson and Yannick Bokolo scored 13 each to lead Gravelines, JK Edwards added 11, Ludo Vaty tallied 10 points and 7 rebounds and Rudy Jomby amassed 11 boards in defeat.
