French League, Regular Season, Game 22: March 16-17, 2012
BCM Gravelines broke the tie atop the French League by downing Dijon 79-55 and putting the pressure on Chalon-sur-Saone to keep pace by beating Roanne in a game that was postponed to March 24. Gravelines had no trouble against Dijon, going out front 47-26 at halftime and maintaining the lead to lift their record to 19-3. Ludovic Vaty led the way with 14 points, Yannick Bokolo and J.R. Reynolds bagged 13 apiece and Pape Sy added 10. Orleans outdueled Le Havre 72-79 to gain sole possession of third place with 15-7 record. The winners led 51-62 at the end of the third quarter and fended off a comeback attempt behind Maleye Ndoye’s 16 points. Le Mans moved into fourth place with a 73-84 victory over Asvel Basket 73-84, raising its record to 14-8. A 27-14 third quarter secured the game for Le Mans, which got 17 points from Alex Acker. Strasbourg took out SLUC Nancy 82-73 as Ricardo Greer tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Pape Philippe Amagou had 15 points in a losing effort, as Nancy entered a tie with Le Mans at 14-8. Cholet Basket reached an 11-11 record, scoring a come-from-behind win against Nanterre 68-77. The home team led 55-41 at the end of the third quarter, but Cholet scored 36 points in the final 10 minutes to go out front. DeMarcus Nelson posted 18 points for the winners, Randal Falker had 15 while Robert Dozier and Patrick Christopher netted 14 each. Poitiers rolled over Pau-Lacq-Orthez 85-76 as Rasheed Wright drained 26 points.
