German League leader Brose Baskets Bamberg outfought rival Alba Berlin 100-90, while ratiopharm Ulm took advantage of Berlin’s loss to claim sole possession of second place by edging TBB Trier 78-77. Brose Baskets led from start to finish, led by PJ Tucker’s 24 points and 8 rebounds, while Tibor Pleiss tallied 19 and Brian Roberts 18. Casey Jacobsen dished out 10 assists for the winners, who climbed to 29-4. Derrick Allen paced the losers with 26 points and Kyle Weaver had 19 with 7 rebounds. Berlin slipped to 25-8. Ulm held off Trier’s 14-24 fourth-quarter rally to eke out a 78-77 win, bumping its record up to 26-7, three games behind the leader. Artland Dragons kept its hold on fourth place with a convincing 76-91 win over Eisbaren Bremerhaven, while FC Bayern Munchen downed BBC Bayreuth 59-68 to remain in fifth. Bayern broke out to a 20-9 lead after 10 minutes and kept the hosts at arm's length throughout, as Chevon Troutman led the way with 15 points and 7 rebounds while Jared Holman added 12 along with 10 rebounds. Telekom Baskets Bonn dominated LTI Giessen 46ers 56-76 to keep a slender hold on seventh place. Walter Tigers Tubingen dumped Fraport Skyliners 89-96, as Reggie Redding and Vaughn Duggins combined for 46 points and 11 rebounds. Jimmy KcKinney poured in 28 points for Fraport in a losing effort. The loss tightened the race for the last playoff spot between Fraport and New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig, which bested EWE Baskets Oldenburg 99-85. In other games, Phoenix Hagen took care of BG Gottingen 74-85 and ENBW Ludwigsburg upended s. Oliver Baskets 91-80.
