Olympiacos escaped from Aghios Thomas with a difficult victory, 84-89, over still winless Maroussi. Vassilis Spanoulis recorded 16 points and 8 assists as the Reds improved to 13-1 to remain atop the Greek League standings along with Panathinaikos, which thrashed Drama 101-72 behind 21 points from David Logan. Olympiacos came back from a 35-24 deficit with a 17-4 run to take a 39-41 lead. Then the visitors soared up to 59-69, but the hosts cut the margin to 81-84, which wasn’t enough. Giorgos Printezis added 13 points and 6 rebounds for the Reds, Kostas Papanikolaou scored 13 and Martynas Gecevicius added 12. Nestoras Kommatos led Maroussi with 32 points and 8 boards. At OAKA, Panathinaikos had an easy time overwhelming Drama 101-72 even though Dimitris Diamantidis didn't play due to an injury. Nick Calathes produced 16 points and 6 assists for the Greens, Aleks Maric and Kostas Tsartsaris bagged 12 points apiece and Steven Smith added 11. For visiting Drama, Guy Michel posted 22 points and 14 boards. Meanwhile Aris fell to 5-9 after its loss to Kolossos Rhodes, 70-64, while PAOK improved its record to 6-8 after edging Kavala 66-60. In Rhodes Aris had an early 11-21 lead, but Kolossos came back to register its 11th victory 70-64. Angelos Tsamis posted 21 points, including a perfect 8 for 8 in two-point shooting, and 10 boards and Antonis Assimakopoulos got 13 points and 6 boards for the victors. Christos Tapoutos and Dominic James scored 19 points each in defeat. In Alexandrion, PAOK led 50-44, fell behind 50-54 and rallied to beat visiting Kavala 66-60. Dimos Dikoudis posted 23 points and Ioannis Kalampokis netted 16 points for PAOK. Sotiris Karapostolou scored 19 and Mohammed Pasalic 18 for Kavala. Elsewhere, Peristeri downed Ikaros Kallitheas 81-69 with Haris Giannopoulos netting 30 points and Panionios bested Ilissiakos 76-78.
