Doron Perkins - Bennet CantuCanadian Solar Bologna toppled Italian League leader Montepaschi Siena 69-78, while nearest rivals Bennet Cantu and EA7 Emprio Armani Milano both won to narrow the gap atop the table. However, Siena holds a two-game lead over the second-place teams with one game to go, assuring the leader a first-place finish. In the event of a two-way tie for second, Cantu holds the tie-breaker in its head-to-head matchup with Milan. Bologna got 21 points from Chris Douglas, 19 from Petteri Koponen and 16 along with 15 rebounds from Viktor Sanikidze to beat Siena 69-78, as the visitors’ outrebounded the hosts 45-25. Ksistof Lavrinovic paced the losers with 17 points, Bo McCalebb scored 12 and Rimantas Kaukenas added 11. Siena managed to cut a 53-73 deficit to begin the last quarter, but came up short. Bologna won its fourth in a row and climbed to 19-12, tied for fourth place with Scavolini Siviglia Pesaro and Banco di Sardegna Sassari. Bennet Cantu had an easy time of it against Fasbi Shoes Montegranaro, winning 81-63. Doron Perkins led the way with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, while Gianluca Basile added 14. Milan took its seventh win in a row, ousting Benetton Treviso 76-84, as Omar Cook racked up 23 points and 6 assists, Ioannis Bourousis netted 22 and Alessandro Gentile added 13 for the winners. Milano ran up a 19-28 first quarter lead, but Treviso fought back to 41-45 at halftime. The hosts got as close as 64-66 in the third quarter, but Milan opened up the lead again in the final minutes. Jeff Viggiano tallied 18 points and Benjamin Ortner 17 in a losing effort. Sardegna downed Umana Venezia 81-74 as Travis Diener and Vanja Plisnic scored16 points apiece and Pesaro edged Acea Roma 82-75 behind James White’s 25 points. Taquan Dean beat the buzzer from downtown to give Sidigas Avellino a 78-77 won over Cimberio Varese. Linton Johnson led the winners with 18 points and 18 boards. In other games Banca Tercas Teramo tripped up Novipiù Casale Monferrato 83-77, while Angelico Biella took a slim 88-84 win over Otto Caserta.
