Lithuanian League superpowers Zalgiris and Lietuvos Rytas both strutted their stuff over the weekends with big wins as each chalked up its 16th victory. However Zalgiris remains in control of first place with no losses this season, while Rytas has fallen twice – both times to Zalgiris. The defending champs cruised past Lietkabelis 93-71 as Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 15. A 29-15 first quarter set the tone for the win. Sonny Weems added 13 points and 4 assists for Zalgiris. Ernestas Ezerskis led Lietkabelis with 15 points. Meanwhile Rytas took down Pieno zvaigzdes 85-67 after racing out to a 38-19 halftime lead. Jonas Valanciunas scored 18 on 7-of-8 shooting and Lawrence Roberts posted a double-double to lead Rytas. Leroy Nobles scored 17 in defeat.
