Lithuanian League Playoffs, Quarterfinals Game 3: April 21
Gediminas Orelik – Rudupis (Photo bbl.net)Rudupis Prienai and Siauliai sealed the final Lithuanian League semifinal berths with Game 3 victories in their best-of-three series. Rudupis routed Pieno Zvaigzdes 89-72 and will face Zalgiris Kaunas in the next round. The visitors led 37-39 at the half, but Rudupis took the lead in the third quarter then poured it on in the last 10 minutes. Gediminas Orelik led a balanced offense with 18 points, while Arnas Labuckas added 14 and Gintaras Kadziulis 13. Trevon Hughes netted 35 for the losers. Siauliai outgunned Neptunas Klaipeda 102-92 and will meet Lietuvos Rytas in the semifinals. The hosts led throughout, albeit by single digits at the end of the third quarter, 73-68, but held on to clinch the win behind Cam Long’s 21 points, including a clutch 10 for 10 from the foul line. Arvydas Siksnius added 19 and Darius Gvezdauskas 18, while Martynas Mazeika scored 25 points in a losing effort.
