Polish League, Regular Season, Game 8: November 2-3, 2011
PGE Turow Zgorzelec remained unbeaten in the mid-week round in the Polish League after thrashing AZS Politechnika Warszaw 89-63. With a 7-0 record, Turow stays atop the standings followed by Anwil Wloclawek at 6-1 after it beat Slask Wroclaw 84-70. The guests took an early 16-28 lead after 10 minutes, but Turow reacted to get in front 39-38 at halftime. After a balanced third quarter, an outstanding 34-11 fourth quarter made the difference. Ronald Moore scored 14 points, Aaron Cel nailed 13 and Michal Jankowski and Giedrius Gustas drained 11 apiece for the victors. Nick Lewis set a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds to help Anwil defeat Wroclaw. Corsley Edwards added 16 points, while Dardan Berisha and John Allen drilled 13 apiece for the winners. Energa Czarni Slupsk routed Kotwica Kolobrzeg 59-70 behind 17 points posted by Stanley Burrell and 16 chipped from Darnell Hinson. Another road win took place in Poznan, where Trefl Sopot increased its record to 5-2 by downing the local team 56-89 led by 26 points and 12 rebounds from John Turek. In a run-and-gun show that needed an extra session to find the winners, LKS Lodz took a thrilling 103-104 road win over Zastal Zielona Gora. Kirk Archibeque drilled 28 points for the winners, while Gani Lawal with 27 was the main contributor for the home team.
